DAA-standing-on-sacred-ground-a-3-Day-Retreat

October 22 - October 24, 2021
09:00 am - 05:00 pm
Australia

Are you curious to discover how being present opens you to the sacred ground of Presence and Being?

Have you ever felt disconnected, isolated, alienated or shaky? Or perhaps you have felt ungrounded with a sense of a lack of safety? Are you curious about these experiences and what they reveal? How do you respond?

These feelings and experiences may relate to what is happening right now, or they may be responses to events from your history and culture. Often, they are expressions of conditioned patterns that may make it hard to trust or feel supported, held, and safe.

When we feel some kind of ground to support our experience, we can relax and allow our immediate experience to reveal itself and transform.

Ground is something we all know and can sense in our everyday experience. For example, the ground of our earth, the grounding we feel when we land in our bodies or our unique experience of ground.

This retreat explores the transformative journey from shaky ground to supported ground, and how through being present you can discover the true ground on which you stand, with its gifts of connection, embodiment, trust, support, resourcefulness and growth.

From your experience of participating in this retreat you may discover:

  • What helps you to feel relaxed, safe and connected
  • How your personal history and culture affect your sense of being able to recognise and feel ground
  • How to recognise, understand and work with  tension patterns held in your body
  • How to land in your body and feel grounded
  • What supports and resources help you to stay present and explore your feelings of lack of ground
  • How being present to your immediate experience opens you to Presence and Being.

This three-day retreat uses an experiential approach that includes teacher talks and spiritual practices such as open-end inquiry, meditation and awareness practices.

Teaching sessions generally start with a meditation practice followed by specific teaching related to the theme of the retreat.  You will have the opportunity to deepen your personal exploration through experiential exercises, usually in pairs or triads and sometimes in a small group, before re-joining the large group to process what has emerged in response to the teaching.

Each retreat day commences at 9.00 am and concludes at 5.00 pm. The day is divided into two, three-hour sessions with a 2-hour break for lunch.
