Introductory Description:

In addition to being an ordained Teacher in the Diamond Approach, David Hett is Minister of Religious Life & Learning at a large, progressive church in Columbus, Ohio, as well as Spiritual Director of The Burkhart Center, a new, interspiritually-oriented school for seekers of truth. David has been a student of the Diamond Approach for 18 years. He has also taught on the Religion & Philosophy faculty at several institutions of higher education. David teaches in central Ohio and the Midwest, offering occasional introductory talks and book studies on the Diamond Approach, as well as leading retreats and teaching classes around other transformative work. His primary interest is in the one-on-one inquiry sessions with individual students who are intrigued by the inner search and wish to go far deeper in understanding self and the nature of reality.

What have you learned as a result of studying the Diamond Approach?:

That I have a heart. Seriously, the simple and true answer I give when asked something like this question is, "The Diamond Approach has helped me discover--and express--my heart." I might add, "in ways that would have been unimaginable to me prior to engaging this Work."

What attracted you to the Diamond Approach?:

From the time I was an undergraduate in Communications I have been interested in the intersections of psychology and spirituality, and of culture and religion, trusting in the sense that there is no ultimate difference between the sacred and the profane. Since that time, I engaged a search for experiential affirmation of that felt sense. While I was in training to become a certified Enneagram teacher in the Riso-Hudson tradition, another step in that search, I became aware of the Diamond Approach and sensed that this was the next step in my journey. Upon engaging the Work, I immediately became aware that its teaching, method and practice were exactly the answer to my search. Since then I've only grown in my appreciation for the integrity, elegance and mysteriously rich unfolding of this path in my life and its potential for the repair and healing of the world.
