Diamond Approach Teachings About: Blueprint

The Blueprint of what a Human Being is Meant to Become

Holy Wisdom, Holy Work, or Holy Plan is the Idea for Point Seven. When there is basic trust in reality, we not only perceive that things are fine the way they are and that what happens is optimal, but we also get a sense of how things are unfolding. We have a sense of what the evolution of a human being toward completeness is about, what the natural, spontaneous evolution of the human soul looks like. The Holy Plan, then, is God’s plan—the perception of the direction of the soul’s unfoldment when it is in contact with Being—the blueprint of what a human being is meant to become. From the perspective of Holy Plan, we see that the universe functions in such a way that human beings can become complete. A human being becomes complete when God is fully replicated in that human life, when the macrocosm is replicated in the microcosm. This is what is meant in some spiritual traditions by man becoming the image of God. Holy Work is the actual evolution, the process of that unfoldment itself. Holy Work is God’s work, which is the unfoldment of the consciousness of the soul into the perception of the whole universe and whatever efforts we make in that direction. So the Work is part of Holy Work, and in it we are working to bring our souls into alignment with the Holy Plan through being present. Action in the present in reality is Holy Work, and such action evolves and develops the soul according to the natural laws of its unfoldment—according to the Holy Plan for how a human being develops.

The Development of the Soul Seen as the Unfolding of a True Pattern or Blueprint

From the point of view of the development of the soul as the unfolding of a true pattern or blueprint, narcissism results from disturbances of the unfoldment of a person’s intrinsic pattern, as well as the dissociation of this unfoldment from the essential ground and nature of the self. This inner core of the self transforms constantly, manifesting in the qualities, and their functions, needed for the self in its moment-to-moment experience, and for its overall development. The unfolding of the inherent qualities of the self is intimately linked with the maturation of the various psychic and physical capacities of the self. These processes form a unified process of transformation and development, which bifurcates as the self becomes alienated from Essence.

The Intelligence that can Create the Universe, Moment to Moment, Without any Blueprint

Everything that happens is totally spontaneous. In non-theistic terms, everything is done through the will of the whole, or in theistic terms, through the will of God. But when most people think of God’s will, they conceive of Him as though He were a human being who has ideas about what is going to happen, as if He had a blueprint and was going to make everything conform to it. This is a very limited idea of God. Maybe God is so intelligent that He can create the universe moment to moment without any blueprint! This is not to say that there is no thread running through everything that happens. The thread is nothing but exactly what is happening now, where you are in this moment, and how this moment unfolds. As you understand what your state is right now, and follow it as it unfolds, you are following your thread. This is Holy Work, the Holy Idea of ennea-type Seven. So things unfold according to Holy Law in a manner that is not random, but is also not determined. When we understand the intelligence of the universe, we understand how this is possible. This intelligence, which we call the essential aspect of Brilliancy, doesn’t need to rely on the past in order to act. This intelligence is so bright that it can respond immediately and spontaneously in the most optimal way possible without having to refer to what has happened in the past.
