The Friends of Ridhwan is grateful to announce that members of the Ridhwan community have donated and pledged just over $350,000 during the end-of-year appeal (as of December 30, 2018). This is about $100,000 more than the response to the end-of-year appeal in 2017 and marks the fourth year in a row the appeal has received increased, year-over-year support.
We are particularly heartened by the response to our request for new monthly commitments, as we have received new monthly donation commitments totaling nearly $65,000 per year, almost tripling the amount of recurring donations Ridhwan can count on to help fund operations. This also means that Ridhwan will receive the entire $50,000 challenge gift made by an anonymous student at the start of the appeal.
The end-of-year giving, as well as earlier giving throughout the year, is a huge help in funding operations. Given the ongoing generosity of donors and a more robust fundraising program, the school is able to include higher fundraising amounts when building the annual budget. However, the increase in donations this year does not fully cover the operational budget for the school, so the Board and Synod will determine in the coming months what further steps are needed to close the budget gap. Friends of Ridhwan will provide more details on the fundraising results—and all the ways these funds support the school, its members, and its mission—in its annual report once the numbers are finalized.
