What have you learned as a result of studying the Diamond Approach?:

As I have learned to slow down and bring a friendly curiosity to my experience, I have discovered how important it is to allow everything because everything is meaningfully connected. If I reject some part of my experience, I will miss some of those connections and not fully understand my inner experience.  This is a journey of discovery, love, and self-remembering. But did I know any of this at the beginning? No. Along the way, I have learned how to relate to my experience so that it can reveal its gems. And you will learn too!

What would you like your potential students to know about you as a teacher of the Diamond Approach?:

I have been a student of the Diamond Approach since 2002. I am also an Enneagram Teacher and have been studying the Enneagram since 1999.

It would be my privilege to accompany you on your journey to inner realization and freedom.

As we work together, we will create a space that best supports your inner work. You will learn to explore your experience beginning where you are, as you are, without trying to get anywhere. Whatever arises in your experience is meaningful so we invite it, are open to it, and do not try to change it or judge it. Inquiry is open-ended. There is no place we are supposed to get. We stay with our experience and see how it unfolds. Each inquiry is unique and each one of us unfolds in our own personal process. We explore our hearts, our minds, and our souls in order to understand ourselves and the reality we live in. We’re not just learning inquiry, we are learning personal inquiry, which has to be our own personal experience. As you stay open, you will begin to understand more and more about your inner world. Slowly as you begin to retrieve lost parts of yourself you will experience yourself as more authentic and real. Your experience will naturally unfold to your deepest nature. No matter how difficult an experience feels, reality always seems to move toward increased freedom, lightness, and goodness. It is through presence and awareness that transformation occurs.

What attracted you to the Diamond Approach?:

After practicing Vipassana meditation and experiencing states of calm and bliss, I noticed that once I was off the cushion, familiar difficult patterns returned and would disturb the calm. What attracted me to the Diamond Approach was the use of both Western psychology and spiritual practices that ongoingly clarify and dissolve distortions in my experience of reality. Through Diamond Approach’s main practice of inquiry, we always begin where we are and inquire into our experience exactly as it is, without trying to change anything. The simple act of being where I am and exploring my experience has brought understanding, clarity, relaxation, peace and freedom.  I also love the individual support available for each student’s specific process with a Diamond Approach teacher.

What is most important for people to understand about the Diamond Approach?:

What makes Diamond Approach inquiry effective is the love of Truth. The heart flourishes when in contact with the truth.
