I have been a student of the Diamond Approach since 2003, and my love for this work runs deep. This path offers a profound inquiry into our personal lives, allowing our direct experiences to reveal more of the truth of who we are. Inspired by this transformative process, I entered teacher training in 2012 and was ordained in 2024, feeling a dedicated call to guide others.
To any student i would ask this: What is that part of you that remains untainted by history, that descends like grace, rises like fire, cuts through falsehood, and loves so exquisitely? What arises inside that clears the mind, brings integrity to action, and leaves you breathless with the adventure of self-discovery? Within this school, that something is called Presence.
Before I began this path, I often felt separated from Presence. At times, I felt unmoored, hollow, isolated, invisible, lost, or simply performing life for the expectations of others. As I began exploring spirituality, I became more aware of glimpses into a deeper reality. It would arise as a sense of fresh renewal or peaceful unity, inviting more intimacy with myself, yet I couldn't quite point to what it was. Like bread crumbs of light, these moments fed my longing until I discovered this more formal path of support and guidance.
Through the Diamond Approach work with my private teacher, I have learned to bear witness to difficult moments of my life, be with them, hold them, love them, yet metabolize them, and see through those veils of suffering and uncover more of who I really am. Sometimes there is a struggle between my historic nature and my eternal nature and that has needed to be grappled with through practice of inquiry. Through inquiry, I’ve learned to hold my own suffering with the same curiosity and kindness my teachers once held for me. Penetrating obstacles with precision one moment, meeting them with gentle stillness the next, inquiry creates a moment to moment awareness of the human condition. It holds the potential to turn suffering into freedom. Inquiry can be seen as a tool or a skill yes, but once refined it can become a delicate yet penetrating force of love and understanding that seeks to open us to the Presence of who we are beyond our history. I feel personally now, it is a true joy and privilege to hold that same space for others, meeting students with encouraging guidance and precise seeing as we explore the depths of truth together.
I currently live in Boulder, Colorado and serve as a teacher in the local community. I have a background in architecture and design, martial arts for health, and the alternative healing arts of rolfing, cranial sacral work, and energy work. As a Diamond Approach teacher, I am available in person or virtually. If you have any questions please reach out. I gladly invite you to sit with me in a compassionate, nonjudgmental space as we look at what limits or blocks your growth. Here you can recieve help in moving beyond the structures of the past and discover the luminous reality of who you truly are.
With love, Seth
