A discovery retreat with Diamond Approach Australia
To be real is to live in a way that reflects the truth of who and what we actually are. When we touch this quality of realness, something lights up inside — there is aliveness, intimacy, and a sense of meaning that draws us toward our inner journey.
Yet being real rarely arrives as a single breakthrough that stays forever. Moments of awakeness come and go. They can feel like breadcrumbs that briefly appear, only to be blown away by the winds of daily life.
In this weekend retreat, you are invited to explore how the practices and methods of the Diamond Approach can support you to follow the living thread of your own inner journey. You may begin to discover that being real is not a fixed state, but an ongoing process of maturation, unfoldment, and transformation. Through inquiry and presence, you can start to discern what is genuinely real for you, and what is false, defensive, or in the way.
Presence plays a central role in this exploration. As you learn to stay with your experience just as it is — pleasant or difficult, clear or confusing — presence can support you to meet reality directly, with honesty and compassion. From here, realness can gradually take root in the midst of your everyday life.
Who is this event for?
This discovery event is designed for those who are curious about the Diamond Approach and wondering whether the DAA path - and in particular the upcoming DAA9 group - might be a good fit.
It offers an opportunity to experience the flavour of the work, the tone of inquiry, and the kind of inner exploration that unfolds over time in an ongoing group. While attending does not assume or require a commitment, it can be a helpful way to sense whether this approach resonates with you as a potential next step.
If you already feel drawn to joining DAA9, this event is very much for you, a supportive way to deepen your familiarity with the work and arrive well-prepared when the group opens.
What to expect
This retreat uses an experiential approach that includes short teachings, guided meditations, and spiritual practices such as open-ended inquiry and awareness exercises. Teaching sessions generally begin with meditation, followed by a teaching related to the theme of the retreat.
You will be invited to deepen your personal exploration through experiential exercises — often in pairs or triads, and occasionally in small groups — before re-joining the larger group to reflect on what has emerged. No prior experience with the Diamond Approach is required.
