An introduction to the Diamond Approach

Every spiritual path deals with our common human situation, and each path deals with it differently. The Diamond Approach is a relatively new path, for people living a full human life in the world, who want to know who and what they are beyond their usual stories and ideas about themselves. It uses a range of powerful practices, as well as modern psychological knowledge, to help each person to explore their own experience in ways that bring deeper understanding, as well as the gradual revelation of our spiritual nature, in its vast rainbow of qualities and dimensions.

The Diamond Approach has been taught in New Zealand for over a decade. There is a large, established group that has developed over that time, which is now closed to new members. Diamond Approach New Zealand is now in the process of forming a new group, for those with a sincere interest in inner work and spiritual discovery. 

We are offering in person retreats open to all in 2023 and 2024.

This first retreat will explore the heart of this path, its central fundamental practices, elements, and orientation. We will also explore the heart and its meaning: what does it mean to have heart, to open the heart, and develop it? What is in your heart waiting to be discovered and unfolded? What is the heart of this path, and does it resonate with your heart? If you would like to get a sense of the Diamond Approach, if you are simply curious, or if you’re called to understand your inner world more deeply, you are warmly invited to join us for this weekend retreat.  The teachers are Ashley Wain and Vivienne Leahy.

Additionally there will be 2 free public introductory events prior to the retreat, where you can learn and ask questions about the Diamond Approach and meet the teachers:

Friday February 10th 7pm-9pm: Finding the Real with Vivienne Leahy at St Andrews Centre (Community Room 1), 30 The Terrace, Wellington 6011

Friday February 17th 7pm-9pm: Spiritual Practice and How We Live Now with Ashley Wain at Grey Lynn Community Centre, (Balcony Room), 510 Richmond Rd, Grey Lynn, Auckland 1021

Retreats normally involve meditation, a teaching, experiential exercises in pairs, threes, or small groups, and opportunities to ask questions, share experiences and inquire further with a teacher.
