Introductory Retreat – “Opening to Our Depth” with Anne Laney and Ashley Wain

The yearning to know who and what we are beyond our history, beyond our physical attributes, beyond our thinking and our emotional life, is what brings many people to some kind of spiritual quest. We might feel it as a search for God or Spirit, or a search for meaning, or a deep desire to know the Truth. And when this is what our heart desires, it is not easy to know how to go about it. We read books about what others have discovered. We go to therapy. We meditate, chant, and do any number of things to try to alter our state so we can access what seems illusive. In this in-person two-day non-residential weekend retreat we will explore how the Diamond Approach® uses open-ended inquiry into our immediate experience to invite our consciousness to reveal what is under the surface. Our exploration will be experiential, and include talks, opportunities to explore these questions personally, meditation, awareness practices, and group discussions. Teachers:

Anne Laney – Anne has been a Diamond Approach® teacher for 14 years, and has been teaching in Australia since 2002. She lives in Colorado in the US, and also works with groups in Boston and Colorado. Anne is the Lead Teacher for the DEA7 group starting in June 2017. Ashley Wain – Ashley lives in Melbourne and has been studying the Diamond Approach® with DEA for 16 years. Ash has recently completed the Diamond Approach teacher training program and will be assisting with the DEA7 group. Ashley has a background as an actor and acting teacher.
