Introductory Description:

I grew up up in St. Louis, Missouri, in the heartland of the US. My family was not religious or spiritual—with many mouths to feed, my parents found themselves focused on the practicalities of life and making ends meet. From a young age I became determined to get a good education and have material success, but I was not content to focus only on the surface of things. I also found myself contemplating the meaning of life, the nature of consciousness, and the sense of sacred depth glistening below the surface of the manifest world.

My studies took me to Texas, England, and finally to California, which quickly became home. After graduate work in tech at Stanford, and succeeding beyond my dreams as an entrepreneur in Silicon Valley in my twenties and thirties, I shifted my primary focus to personal development and spiritual exploration.

I’ve been engaged in contemplative and somatic practices, exploring the realms of the body, mind, and spirit, throughout my life. For many decades I have taught movement, yoga, the Enneagram, Hanna Somatics, and Somatic Experiencing. I’ve also served as a certified integral coach and professional group facilitator at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the University of San Francisco School of Law, as well as consulting with organizations in the areas of leadership development, communication and collaboration.  I am a long-time meditator and student of the Diamond Approach.

I am based in California, dividing my time between beautiful Marin County in the summers and the breathtaking Coachella Valley desert during the winter seasons.

What would you like your potential students to know about you as a teacher of the Diamond Approach?:

What I love most is how the Diamond Approach honors both the personal and the universal— the uniqueness of each soul’s history, and the vastness of our true nature. It’s a pilgrimage that continues to reveal new elements of essential truth, while burning away all that is false. I’m grateful to be on this path and honored to support others in their own unfolding — meeting each person’s experience with presence, kindness, compassion, and respect for the sacred mystery that lives in us all. It is a joy to accompany students on their journey as their flame leads them to more depth and intimacy with themselves and their true nature.

What attracted you to the Diamond Approach?:

What drew me to the Diamond Approach was its deep welcome for the whole of who we are. Nothing is rejected or bypassed— not pain, not longing, not confusion. Instead, everything we experience is included as part of the path and a portal into our depths. The practice of inquiry has transformed my relationship with myself, inviting a patient, open-hearted listening for what resonates as true and brings me home to myself.
