Introductory Description:

Fran Haynes has been a student of the Diamond Approach since 1996. She offers in-person private sessions in Sydney Australia and elsewhere via cyberspace. Fran has worked as psychotherapist, social researcher and clinical supervisor and has been a passionate practitioner and teacher of martial arts for over 30 years. Music, dancing, 'going bush’ and ‘diving in’ are part of the rhythm of Fran’s life.

What have you learned as a result of studying the Diamond Approach?:

That the unfolding and opening of the Soul takes as long as it takes. Nothing can be hurried, nothing can be pushed along. This is the Compassionate Truth of the situation. We turn up, we learn to get out of our own way. We open to Love and are carried.

What would you like your potential students to know about you as a teacher of the Diamond Approach?:

Everything is welcome.

What attracted you to the Diamond Approach?:

When the experience of Essence arose in my own process, I knew instinctively this was the next step. But, with no map, no orientation and no reflection - this understanding went dormant. Years later, I found Hameed's book and it just made sense. Here was an exquisite explanation and expose of what I had experienced on my journey so far and, of what had been missing or misunderstood. Essence and the Elixir of Enlightenment touched some part of me that had become weary and even despairing and ignited the flame once more. 'Coincidentally' I saw a tiny ad for a workshop on 'Essence' in Sydney and signed up without realising it was this same Work. This is how the Magic happens. My soul has always delighted in the description of the Work as providing a map to traverse our sacred inner territory and in the invitation of the Work to be 'in the World but not of it'. At my first retreat, I was so moved by the Presence of the Teacher and the radical clarity and cutting through of the teaching that I was gone, and, over the years...gone, gone and more gone.

What is most important for people to understand about the Diamond Approach?:

Just begin.
